(差分近似法の適合性:いくつかの解析結果) 内容: The numerical computation for physical phenomena includes two different kinds of modeling. First we establish partial differential equations that model physical phenomena. The equations are continuous models. For numerical computation we still need another modeling, i.e. we discretize the partial differential equations to obtain numerical schemes. These are so-called discrete models. The two modelings are different things, even though they are sometimes confusing. The discrete models should be obtained from the continuous models by some mathematical thinking, while the continuous models are given by discussion mainly in physics. It is always expected that the discrete models should be consistent with all the properties of continuous models. But it is impossible. Therefore we have to choose which kind of consistency is important for each case of numerical computation, while it is not yet an easy problem. For the purpose we still need mathematical analyses for the consistency and inconsistency. We here discuss some properties of discrete models from the view- point of consistency and inconsistency with the continuous models. We introduce some analysis on dog-leg phenomenon, carbuncle phenomenon etc., which may happen in numerical calculation for compressible Euler equations. We also discuss the conservation consistency of difference schemes for incompressible Navier-Stokes equations.
